The owners, their family and locals including Emma Hurelle Peck (On steps, 4th from left) stand in front of the Otsego General Store. In a later, yet similar photo postcard (by L.L. Cook of Lake Mills, WI) the store has autos out front instead of horse drawn wagons and has "A.E. Lewis Gen'l Store Otsego WIS" written in the negative emulsion on the font of the photo. |
Store owners advertise the new Wisconsin River bridge and shopping at the Peck and Clavadatscher New Cash Store in Portage Wisconsin. According to the 1906 advertising postcard (THE NEW BRIDGE post card) they added 'an adjoining room to our former quarters, giving us a building with a 65 foot front. Every in of these rooms is filled with GENUINE BARGAINS.' |
Standing in front of the potato harvest, Maud Hurelle, second from right works with family farmers. She is standing next the same man as she was in the town wedding photo. |
Over thirty people take part in a wedding photo with some of the Hurelle and Peck families. On the right side, Elmer and Della stand behind Maud, Florence and Emma Hurelle and their kids. Please help to identify anyone! |
